Steven Lopez

Steven Lopez has experience representing individuals injured in motor vehicle collisions, commercial vehicle accidents, premises liability incidents, dog bites, and other personal injury matters. He is committed to helping injured clients understand their legal options and pursuing the compensation they deserve.

Before joining The de la Garza Law Group, Steven served as an associate attorney with a personal injury firm, where he independently managed a docket of approximately 140 personal injury cases from initial intake through litigation and settlement. He secured more than $1 million in settlement recoveries for injured clients.

His experience includes conducting and defending depositions, handling discovery, drafting and responding to pleadings and motions, representing clients at hearings and mediations, and negotiating with insurance companies and opposing counsel.

Steven’s litigation experience extends beyond personal injury law. Earlier in his career, he represented clients in civil litigation involving real estate, landlord-tenant disputes, title and foreclosure matters, HOA disputes, and breach of contract claims.

He also served as a first-chair trial attorney and prepared appellate briefs for cases before the First and Fourteenth Texas Courts of Appeals. This broad litigation background has strengthened his ability to analyze complex cases, develop legal strategies, and advocate for clients throughout the legal process.

Steven earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2023, where he received a Dean’s Scholarship, earned a Pro-Bono Certificate, and was a member of the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. He earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Global Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on International Political Economy and Latin American Studies.

Steven is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to providing clear, responsive communication to his clients throughout their cases.
